Lesser Moore

Date of Review:  Jul 15, 2005
The Bottom Line: Some authors hit their first work out of the park. Alan Moore needed some practice before hitting his home runs. With these stories, he swings and misses.
Review: Comic book fans would make Alan Moore a saint, if they could. They'd probably not stop there.

Moore is worshipped for his revolutionary Watchmen, in which we see how life turns out for some super heroes long after they've hung up their...

Across the Alan Mooreniverse: The early works of a comic book genius

Date of Review:  Feb 9, 2006
The Bottom Line: Alan Moore told some great little stories in the DCU. But for the most part, these aren?t them.
Review: Alan Moore, as I'm sure I've remarked before, is the ultimate comic book writer. Across the universe is a collection of Moore's DC stories from a brief period in the 1980's when he had already established himself as a brilliant writer on the...

Superman, Batman and Co. through the Eyes of a Creative Giant

Date of Review:  Dec 9, 2007
The Bottom Line: Some of the most acclaimed standalone comic book stories of the 1980s, all in one place for your reading enjoyment!
Review: Comic book writer Alan Moore is best known as the author of the stunning Watchmen, in my own words "the story that changed comic books forever"; he also wrote the original comic book version of V for Vendetta back in the 1980s (and subsequently...

Warning: Mind at Work

Date of Review:  Aug 16, 2008
The Bottom Line: The book is not groundbreaking on a whole, but it offers several intriguing perspectives of the mainstream DC universe.
Review: Alan Moore is considered by many readers (not just comic book readers, but readers in general) to be THE best comic book writer on the planet. I do not know if he is THE best, but I will say that he is certainly one of the finest craftsmen in the...
