Pros: Comes with cables.

Cons: Overpriced, slow, buggy, no hotkey, prevents entering the BIOS.

The Bottom Line: Avoid like the plague!

I picked up one of these because someone offered it to me cheap. Now I know why.

First, NO HOTKEY. There's a windows program for switching it, but so what? I'm not going to install some buggy program on every PC that's brought to me just to toggle a KVM switch.

Second, it's very slow to toggle. Reach around to press the button, then wait several seconds before your mouse and keyboard start to work again.

Third, the unit won't let you switch to an inactive machine. If you do, it switches you back. Then it refuses to switch again for several seconds, no matter how many times you hammer on the button.

These last two combine to ensure that you will never be able to see a machine POST or enter its BIOS when using this KVM.
Switch to the second PC while turning it on and it switches you back to your first PC. Then you hammer on the switch button until it finally lets you switch again, only to watch the second computer sail into loading windows as you wait for the keyboard to start working again. Since I bought this unit to help with repairing computers, it's completely useless for me.

I never knew something as simple as a KVM could be messed up so badly, or cause so much anger and frustration.

Anyone want an appalling KVM? I'll sell you one cheap!
