Super Barney Fun

I'll admit that I personally can't stand Barney and was hesitant about actually purchasing one of these videos. However, my son really likes animals and as Barney's Singing Circus is on DVD, I relented. We watched it for the first time today, and I'll admit I judged Barney a bit too harshly, too soon. The DVD version of this title offers more than just the Circus, there is a bonus episode of Barney as well as activities included on the DVD. My son loved it and enjoyed the 40 minutes of quiet it offered me.

Most of the videos in our house are educational and while this video is definitely not going to teach my son much of anything (no video does), it does offer interesting sights, sounds and songs dealing with animals and the traditional 3 ring circus. The "plot" is not hokey and actually keeps a 2 year olds attention through its colorful interactive afternoon at the circus. Kiddos will recognize the children from the PBS Barney show as well as Barney and Baby Bop.

I'm glad we gave Barney a chance. Who knows, we may even buy another of his DVDs.
