Great Primer For Mineral Makeup Users

You've probably heard this before and it's completely true.. once you start using a foundation primer, you can never go without it again!

I first discovered foundation primer when I got a little sample packet of it at Sephora. Now I can't imagine using ANY face makeup without the stuff.

I purchased Bare Escentuals Prime Time Primer because it claimed to be the ideal primer to use for mineral foundation, which is the only thing I use these days.

The product comes in a little white and black bottle, about 3 inches tall. On one hand, it fits nicely into your makeup bag. But on another hand, you just paid around $20 for this tiny little thing. In reality the bottle is small, but it lasts quite a long time. The directions say to use just one pump, but I always end up using two and I get a few months worth of usage out of it.

The product is a very smooth and silky clear gel formula that glides nicely on your skin. It isn't sticky or tacky whatsoever. It basically creates a nice, even canvas for your mineral makeup to be applied. I have very dry skin (which is why I think I need two pumps) and this product makes my skin look refreshed and smooth, leaving not a trace of dryness after it is applied even without moisturizing. I don't have lines or wrinkles yet (knock on wood) so I don't know how this product does with reducing the appearance of them.

After applying the primer, your mineral makeup goes on much more effortlessly then before. I don't use the Bare Escentuals makeup line, but the primer definitely improved the application of the mineral makeup that I do use. My face used to look somewhat cakey and powdery while wearing mineral makeup because of my dry skin. This primer completely alleviates that problem and leaves my skin looking smoother and feeling softer.
