If you love your iPod or other music player but would like to share your music with others or just get the bud out of your ear, then the Audiovox Jensen Universal iPod Docking Music System is the perfect present for yourself or others.
We added the dock last week after coming across it at a supermarket. We've had a couple of iPods in the house for the last two years and love them for all the usual reasons, not the least of which is the excellent sound.
Similarly, this dock will win you over, too. The ease of use and its adaptability are key benefits. We literally opened the box, plugged it in and starting playing it, all in less than a minute.
The Jensen features the following:
Player and recharger for iPod, iPod mini, iPod nano and iPod Shuffle, which means the iPod can recharge itself even as its being played.
Digital volume control, no small feature since some models we saw don't allow for adjustments.
A multi-function back-lit display
An AM/FM stereo receiver with AM and FM preset stations (15 each.)
An FM antenna jack
Ability to either plug in or run on batteries.
Interchangeable iPod adapters.
Clock with snooze alarm
Built-in retractable auxiliary input cord for connecting CD player, MP3 or other digital audio power .
Remote for the radio iPod functions.
2 hi-fidelity cone speakers, built into the unit.
The sound is excellent--not Bose but not Bose prices, either, and perfectly fine for the average ear.
It comes in white and goes nicely with just about any decor, but especially those Apple products.
We've been running the iPod for hours at a time, but mostly at night when we can set the iPod to play a certain number of songs, then shut down and recharge.
The alarm clock is an extra nice touch to the device, which is less than a foot long and about 8 inches deep, and weighs just under 4 1/2 pounds. It fits very nicely on the nightstand (once we got that cleared off).
We paid $69 for this; I see it's offered for around $70 online.
