Bought this unit after seeing it in the flier of a local chain for what seemed an excellent price; The picture quality is quite good, it's a flat screen, and has a built-in DVD player. I got a week's worth of excellent use out of it before a DVD apparently became lodged in the machine. The tray ejects empty, but the DVD will play as normal!
Called Apex customer service and got virtually no useful information from an agent who seemed to be greatly distracted by something that wasn't my case.

Calling back, I got the same advice from another agent, who suggested I take the unit back to the retail store and get a refund. When I explained that this would cost me my stuck DVD, he then suggested that I could pay for the shipping to Apex to have the machine fixed and my DVD taken out.

I asked to speak to a manager and was told there were "none on the floor". He mentioned supervisors, so I asked to speak to one, only to be told that he was a supervisor, and that his answers would stand. When I asked for the number for Apex's head office, I was told firstly that there was no number, secondly that there was a number, but he didn't have it at his location, and thirdly that he was not allowed to give me the number for head office.

Upon checking the Apex website, I notice there is no number listed for any kind of head office - solely technical support numbers. I believe it speaks volumes about the experience I had that this company seems to take no accountability for their products. CAVEAT EMPTOR!
