Author's Review
If you have ever heard anything but Evanescence, you would have to say that the only way the came around into the music scene is by pure talent. You may be listening to the radio one day, and think you yourself, "How in the world did this band/singer get on the radio?" I have to say, Evanescence does not fall into this category.
When listening to their album, "Fallen", you may think it is depressing, you may think it is dark, eerie, and too solemn for your taste, but you must admit at least once that the band has talent. Their lead singer, Amy Lee, is a very impressive frontwoman who is not afraid to share her opinions and write how she feels. The recently departed co-founder, Ben Moody, also had a talent for writing - or, otherwise, making up stories.
So, it is not a surprise that when you listen to "Anywhere But Home", you are completely and utterly blown away. Amy Lee delivers a ridiculously well practiced and intense performance that no one I have ever seen has come close to mimicking. Though she may not sing perfectly accurate according to "Fallen", she sings amazingly, and the entire band puts a great effort into making one of their concerts a night you will never forget.
