Works as advertised - (so far)!
Pros:
Small, lightweight, easy to use and set up.
Cons:
Needs remote for use, no buttons on machine. Manual up and down louvers only.
The Bottom Line:
The right price for what was needed - to cool my bedroom down at night, and only 10 minutes to set up from box to cooling air.

Author's Review
I just bought this product yesterday, so have only used it one night. I have central air, but needed something just to cool my bedroom (about 200 sq ft with high vaulted ceiling) down at night, as I don't get any kind of breeze with open window management and it gets the full west sun from about noon to sunset. This machine was simple to set up (there was really no set up except to connect the vent hose and plug it in) and started cooling immediately. You need the remote to control the machine, there are no buttons on the machine itself - so whether you consider that a problem or not is up to you. There is no oscillation movement, you just manually move the vent flaps up or down, no side to side option. As far as the noise level, in the store where I purchased it, it sounded VERY quiet, but of course, once home and in a closed environment, it sounded like an air conditioner is expected to sound. The nice thing is that there is very little difference in noise level when the condenser kicks in, so it is a consistent "white noise" that was easy for me to get used to right away (and drowned out the noise of the ballfield right across the street from me, that has games until 11pm on some nights!). The fan or dehumidifier options were quieter, obviously. If you're looking for a simple, no frills machine for a decent price, then this is the one to get. It is also Energy Star Compliant, so it should qualify for rebates from the power company, where offered ($50 in my area). If my opinion should change in the near future with more use, I will certainly re-post it here. If anyone out there owns this machine and has had problems with it, I would appreciate a heads-up as to what to expect.
