Chipmunks is a cute movie

I borrowed "Alvin and the Chipmunks" from my nephews because I loved watching the cartoon when I was little. Now at 28 years old, I really wanted to relive my great childhood and see this movie.
I guess I never really paid attention to the trailers. I never realized that Dave was played by Jason Lee, who is famous for his Earl character. I do not care for the show "My name is Earl", but I must say that Jason Lee did a great job in this movie. At first I thought, this movie is going to blow, but it did not much to my surprise.
The story starts off with Dave trying to land a job with his jingles and the company refusing him. Since it is Christmas, a large tree was brought in to the building where Dave is trying to land the job and our three favorite chipmunks appear. This Christmas tree was their home in the wild. Anyway they are scared and end up hiding in a basket that Dave takes home with him.
The 3 cuties convince Dave to let them stay with him after he hears them sing. It is so cute to listen to them. So they stay and end up getting into all kinds of trouble.
My favorite part of the movie was when Theodore had a nightmare and asked Dave if he could sleep with him. Dave said just stay on your side and Theodore ends up sleeping on his head. I liked this because that is something my cat would do, so naturally I thought it was cute.
I give this movie a 10. It totally lived up to my expectations from when I was 7 watching the Chipmunks every weekend. They hardly changed a thing from how I remember them. Simon even had glasses like he did from years ago.
