Animal Genius: Worth the Money

This game was our first game when my daughter got her Nintendo DS for Christmas in '07. I have to admit that before I wrapped it, I played the game to test whether both worked (because they were purchased from Ebay). I immediately was hooked!
The graphics on this game are very realistic. You begin by choosing either a tropical, arctic, or jungle environment and earn points to pop animals up into these environments. My favorite part is the mini game in which the player scratches off the screen and guesses the animal before the screen is scratched away. Even my 2 year old can play that game with some assistance. Along with the other games--like mazes, matching, and knowledge--and the fact that your children are learning about animals and their environments, I like that it doesn't get old quickly. I'm not particularly an animal lover, but I think this game will hold the attention of a pretty wide audience since most kids I know really love animals. It held my attention even though most of the facts and quizzes were pretty evident or common sense. Of all her Nintendo games, I think she has played this one the most.
