A Financial Workhorse

I purchased the 10B directly from HPShopping.com 3 days prior to a managerial economics class. They shipped the calculator the same day fia FedEx overnight (for only a dollar!) and I had it in plenty of time before classes started. I ended up liking it so much, I purchased a second unit for use at work.

Positives:
The calculator works very well and truly shines in finance/business functions. Computations are easy to compute and no extra keystrokes (a compute key is required to calculate data on the TI & Sharp models) are required after all data is inputted. Amortization is a snap as is TVM, IRR, and countless other financial functions. The display is clear and bright and is very easy to read. This calculator is perfect for business students/finance students and professionals alike.

Caveats:
While the calculator does do statistical functions, I find them to be counter-intuitive on this model. Obviously there are no graphing functions for doing regression or trend analysis, but it IS only ~$30.00 so one cannot truly complain about the lack of graphing abilities. I would not recommend this product for a hard-core calculus or stat classes/use. I also carry along a HP 48gx for these types of applications and most general usage.

Summary:
Overall, the 10B is a fantastic business calculator for the money. It is much more solidly built than the competition and is widely used in textbook & classroom tutorials. It is best used mainly for financial use as the documentation for other uses is lacking. I highly recommend for anyone who needs a low-price financial calculator that will stand the test of time.
