30 Rock an instant classic

The Bottom Line: A hilarious show that I'd recommend to anyone in the mood for fun and laughter.
I've liked Tina Fey since her days on Saturday Night Live, so I was delighted to see her back in action on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. I hadn't had a chance to watch it in first run, so I put it at the top of my Netflix Queue, and I really haven't been disappointed. The writing is phenomenal, and the jokes range from absolute silliness to incredibly witty and clever. Fey does a nice job as Liz Lemon, and Tracy Morgan is hilarious as the egotistical somewhat of a has been movie star who is brought in early on to save the fictional "Girlie Show." But, in my opinion, the real stars of the show are Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy and Jack McBrayer as Kenneth. I really don't see how either of these men make it through the shows without losing it, and they manage to deadpan the most incredibly hilarious scenes. Even somewhat smaller players, like Jane Krakowski and Scott Adsit, add a lot to the total mix. And Rachel Dratch's cameo appearances, along with cameos made by various other celebs, make for an even better show. This is one series and DVD set I definitely would recommend to any comedy fan.
