Moneyball...Great Reading For Baseball Nerds

Date of Review:  Oct 6, 2005
The Bottom Line: Moneyball is wonderful and a truly insightful read. This is a must read for any baseball fan.
Review: I have plenty of fond memories as a kid. I enjoyed playing with my friends, watching cartoons on Saturday morning before my parents woke up and reading major league box scores. Which one of those doesn't fit? Yea, the box scores. Believe it or not,...

The Bottom Line: Fun read for fans of the National Pastime, as well as statistics geeks
Review: Michael Lewis has come up with a fascinating take on how to put a winning baseball team together. He uses Billy Beane, General Manager of the Oakland A's, as the best example of a modern manager whose financial resources don't permit him to play...

Beating up on Baseball's Goliaths

Date of Review:  Jun 14, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is the most important baseball book of the 21st century. This book gets inside the inner circle, providing great insight into the thinking of MLB's best general manager!
Review: The 2003 major league baseball season culminated in October with arguably the most exciting playoffs in history, and with one of baseball's "David's" defeating "Goliath" when the low budget Florida Marlins overcame the storied New York Yankees. Such...
