Pros: Cheap, good for daytime pictures, leather case.
Cons: Problem of freezing up, poor under low light condition, poor battery life.

Don't waste your money

Pros: Fairly simple to operate.
Cons: Poor picture quality, shutter lapse, and battery life.
The Bottom Line: I would avoid this camera, there are much better products out there for the money. It is not worth the hassle.

Disappointed by Vivitar 8300s

Pros: It's easy to use, has a large LCD screen, and an optical view finder.
Cons: The Vivitar 8300s does not focus on faces, even in portrait mode.
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend the Vivitar 8300s. Fatal flaws include very poor portrait pictures, short battery life, and lousy tech support. The first 8300s we had died within 6 weeks.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
