Luigi's Mansion for GameCube

Consumer Rating: Luigi's Mansion for GameCube Reviews and Ratings - Rating 4/5   See 50 reviews  | Write a review
Information: Product details
Price Range: $70.00 - $93.00 at 2 stores
Manufacturer: Nintendo
Luigi's Mansion is a perfect showcase for the GameCube's graphics horsepower. In the game, Luigi - Mario's younger brother and costar of several games through the years - has inherited a spooky old mansion provided he can summon the courage to spend the night within its haunted walls. Luigi arrives prepared to clean house using a Ghostbusters-like device that stuns the ghosts with light and then vacuums them up safely. The gameplay gets tricky when some of the bigger light-shy ghosts vanish before you can put the Hoover on them. And, should one of the spectral pests sneak up on Luigi, he loses courage and the common currency of all Mario-inspired games: gold coins.

Pros: Amusing animation and spiffy graphics
Cons: Not enough bang for the buck
The Bottom Line: A truly enjoyable game, but not really worth the $50 price tag. Rent it!

Review: Before I start, I want to make one thing perfectly clear. I like the kind of video games that many people think are too simplistic or that are geared towards children. My mind revolts at games like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, which shows...

Review: "Nintendo's flagship release for the GameCube was an effort to appeal to multiple generations. In most venues it succeeds; but in other veins it fails."

Pros: Simple, fun and extremely addictive - classic Nintendo game play.
Cons: Can be completed in under 10 hours.
The Bottom Line: Plays great while it lasts but is really best suited for rental.
