MOVIE DVD - Hercule Poirot's flair for drama is nicely highlighted in Agatha Christie's Poirot Set 6, an adaptation of three more Christie short stories that aired on PBS's Mystery! series, starring the inimitable David Suchet as the famous Belgian detective. The subject of the first mystery, "The Theft of the Royal Ruby," is apparent from the title; its solution dominates Poirot's Christmas holiday and involves one of his most complex and brilliant gambits. "The Mystery of Hunter's Lodge" finds Poirot investigating a brazen murder at a hunting lodge while bedridden with a cold. These two are among Christie's most circuitous tales, and they are distinguished by their excellent denouements, with Poirot showing a master's hand for staging the moment of truth.
