The CPU crown changed hands for a while, but Intel has ruled for a while. AMD has fired back with an updated quad-core processor. While it's not as fast as the Intel Core i7, it is as fast, or faster, than the Intel Core 2 series. The big difference being the AMD Phenom II is cheaper, and it overclocks just as well. My video editing goes twice as fast, games play smooth, and all my tasks overall are quick. Pros: Fast, inexpensive for the speed, backwards compatible with AM2 motherboards
