These were two of the original auction sites. OnSale specialized in computer equipment and surplus auction specilized in surplus anything. OnSale was a competitive place. And Surplus Auction, which became Egghead, offered the savy shopper some bargains, as long as you watched shipping costs.
Then these two merged. And the honest evaluation is that if you are looking for a computer part check out their price. As in auction it's not much anymore. The people who are bidding here have very little sense, often paying more than regular price for items up for bid. But if there's an unusual thing you want or need and you don't mind last year's model you can probably get a good deal here.
