9/19/2000 at about noon Eggheads MONITORING SYSTEM detected: Suspicious bidding activity on my account.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME! The first time (08/20/2000) one very polite gentleman told me that someone tried to hack into my account. This gave me the jitters but it resulted to be an ERROR of their system.
All I can remember was pressing the checkout button and a message afterwards that the order could not be processed at that time, that I should try later. I pressed the back button and submitted the order again. BINGO!! I received their automated message about suspicious bidding activity.
I am so disappointed and furious, because the shopping convenience once experienced has been overshadowed by their awful service. I called customer support as instructed on their automated e-mail and was not able to solve the problem. Customer Service would not transfer the call to their security department arguing that they do not take calls. They promised me that they would contact me 24 to 48 working hours later (whatever that means). This didnt happened the first time, and it didnt happen this instance either.
I am furious because their automated e-mail suggests that I am felon. That is NO way to treat a client: ACCUSING him of illegal activity.
There is definitely a problem with their monitoring system, even worse: their customer support is not helpful and their security department is unreachable. They can use as many arguments as they want about security (I think this is going to be THE excuse) they just lost ANOTHER client.
Try www.amazon.com zshops they are very convenient and will soon be able to find anything.
Sincerely,
