I have been using Vitacost.com, the online store, almost every month for several years. Their order process is rapid and clear, with a convenient Save for Later list attached to the Shopping cart if you find you've purchased too many items in that month's order. They have improved their on line presence and shopping cart over the past year or two which could account for some earlier negative reviews here. There was a time when the ordering and searching process was much harder.

Vitacost.com has a flat shipping fee of $4.99 no matter how large the order. They have same day shipping if the order is placed before 2PM. My orders come very fast usually within 3-4 days although Vitacost states that on light weigh orders, they should arrive within 7 days.
Note added 2-19-09 Several of my recent orders have arrived damaged. This most often happens with large, heavy items are sent with smaller items. Vitacost.com has a problem in their shipping department. They aren't wrapping products well but just tossing a snake of air bubble bags in with products. Although they will replace items at no cost, the delay in receiving the replacement products sometimes messes my vitamin schedule up. I have complained to the company, alerting them that they are losing money and customer good will with this problem. Prices and available products will keep me with this company but this shipping problem is a strong negative. My overall satisfaction is still high but this company has lost points with me until they fix this problem.

Vitacost is listed with several rebate sights, so you can get a bit of help with their shipping charge if you go through eBates or MrRebates.com first.

Vitacost has very discounted prices (sometimes 1/2) on a huge inventory of health care products. I read and act on the reviews given by other customers.

Vitacost doesn't carry everything but they give you the opportunity to suggest a product. Another negative is that this month the Coromega Fish Oil supplement I take went up $2.00. That was a bit of a shock. However it's price was still way, way below retail elsewhere.

I try to order as many products as I can so that I can take full advantage of the shipping fee. However, the increase in price of Coromega forces me to consider ordering this product on Amazon and making sure my total order on Amazon is at least $25.00 so that I can get free their shipping. Note 2-19-09 I'm back ordering this product on Vitacost. Amazon had delayed shipping on it too many times.

Vitacost.com does have the Walker Low Carb Diet Shakes I like at $9.99 each so I will continue to purchase from them. On the whole this is a great company to deal with, you just have to stay on top of prices and availability. I have benefited from Vitacost's library of articles on various health care subjects and the recommendations which have been given by other customers. Both have helped me make wiser choices. Note 2-19-09 I am actually ordering almost everything I take from Vitacost now. The prices are just too good to pass up. And the convenience and speed of delivery is great. They just need to fix that shipping department.
