I buy all my shoes from PlanetShoes.com. They offer fast, free shipping and free return shipping. Their prices are as good as or better than anywhere else I have seen. That combined with their shipping policies make it a no-brainer for me. Sometimes I walk into a shoe store and try something on in person, in order to save the shipping hassle, but then I come home and order from PlanetShoes.

My only complaint is regarding their return processing. When you look up your order history on their site, there is no indication that you have requested a return for a given order, or what the return status is. It would be nice if, by generating one of their return shipping labels, the status changed to "return requested" or something like that. Once I hand the package to my UPS carrier, it takes about six weeks sometimes for the return to show up on my credit card. They have always faithfully refunded my money, it just takes what seems a ridiculously long time. But the free return shipping makes up for that.

They have the biggest selection of Earth Shoes I have ever found, but I also wish they carried Dansko brand shoes.

Bottom line: Their shipping policies make shopping as easy as it gets.
