I have been trying to have a successful buying experience form Mountain
gear for three years now. I have been extremely unsatisfied with no
less than four attempts. I have experienced, excessively slow shipping,
overcharges on shipping, and most frequently out of stock items. Hey
M.G. if it’s out of stock, take it off your web site!! Customer satisfaction
is non existent I am still waiting for a $4.95 overcharge. Out of stock items
are left for you to figure out….without any notation on your receipt, no e-mail,
just a partially filled box with some of your stuff…. I am now giving up.
PS don’t let the great looking catalog fool you, order from REI, EMS, Campmor,
Gear Express …. Always top notch!!!!!

Avoid this store at all costs! I ordered The North Face Sprinkles hat in Purple on Jan. 1, 2007 because I wanted it to match my down jacket in Purple. They sent me the Sprinkles scarf instead. When I called I was assured that they would send the hat immediately. It was supposed to ship yesterday, 1-8. I got a call this morning saying that they were sorry, but the hat was now out of stock. They had it last week, but because they made a mistake and send me the wrong item, I can no longer get the hat. I will never buy from Mountain Gear again!

I had a very good experience with this store. I had some questions about the gear. The customer service staff was very knowledgeable and gave me accurate and straight-forward answers. The gear was shipped very quickly - I received it earlier than expected.
