The Buggs are huge fans of Linens n Things. They always have great sales and customers can use their coupons as well as Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupons there to save even more money. Not only that, you can use multiple coupons even if they expire so we frequent LNT on a regular basis for our household needs.

The most recent item we needed was a duvet cover for our down comforter. Our furniture is white, the walls are white, the sheets and comforter are white. We were in serious need of some color in our bedroom. I found the perfect Nautica yellow and blue duvet cover online at LNT.com but it wasn’t available in the store. Drat. I had to order online without the benefit of my 20% off coupon. Oh well. I had to have it so I pulled up LNT.com again and placed my order.

The website

The LNT homepage displays current in store and online specials. The user can view these specials simply by clicking on the picture or text associated with each special. The homepage also displays links to the major shopping categories on the site. They are Bedding, Bath, Dining, Kitchen, Electrics, Home Décor, Windows, Organization, Gifts, and Seasonal. Hovering the mouse over each category displays a list of more specific items under each category. For example, if you hover the mouse over Bedding, the menu displays sub-categories that can be selected, such as sheets, comforters, duvets, quilts, pillows, mattresses, and many more.

If you’re looking for a specific item, there are two quick and easy methods for finding it on LNT.com. First is to enter a keyword or LNT item number into the text field and clicking the Search button. The product database is searched for your entry and anything that matches will be displayed. The other quick and easy method is to click the Shop by Brand link which opens an alphabetical listing of the brands available on LNT.com. From there you can simply click the brand link to see all products for that brand.




My latest order

The last order I placed was about a week ago. I ordered a Nautica duvet cover and some comforter clips. The comforter was easily found by clicking the Nautica brand and perusing the matching products. I selected the color, size, and quantity and clicked the Add Items to Cart button to add the duvet to my shopping cart. A pop-up window displayed which stated that I placed the item into my cart and showed a small picture of it. I closed the window and continued to shop. I found the clips by entering “comforter clips” into the text field and clicking the Search button. I placed them into my shopping cart as well and clicked the Proceed to Secure Checkout button on the message window that again displayed.



Checkout

After adding the two items to the shopping cart you can update the cart to remove or add items or just check out. If you are a returning customer just enter your email address and password into the fields in the “Yes, retrieve my account information” section of the screen. Billing and shipping details are saved for returning customers and does not need to be entered for subsequent orders. There is also a Forgotten Password option for returning customers. An option exists for the customer to check out as a guest. This allows you to check out without creating a user account.


After entering the billing address click the Continue Checkout button to select shipping destination. The destination field for all items defaults to the billing addressed entered but it can be changed to another address. Some items may also be picked up in a Linens n Things retail store and incur no shipping charges for doing so.


Shipping

Click the Continue Checkout button to select the shipping method and gift wrap options. The choices are economy ground, standard ground, 3 day, or overnight and the shipping fees are based on weight. Economy takes 6-10 business days, standard is 3-5 days, 3-day is 3-4 days, and overnight is 1-2 days. For this order I had a coupon code for free economy ground shipping on orders over $150 so I selected economy continued with the checkout process. The order I placed on Sunday was delivered by UPS on Saturday which was well within the 6-10 day window that LNT.com stated.



Payment

The next screen in the process is the payment screen where there are a number of options from which to choose. This screen allows the user to enter any coupon codes or gift card numbers and pay by credit card. LNT accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express as well as the Linens n Things credit card and Give Anything. You can even choose Bill Me Later which allows you to receive your bill with your shipment or make no payments for 90 days on purchases over $250.

When checkout is completed, an order summary is displayed on screen and an email is sent to the email address you entered during checkout. The email contains all order information as well as a link so you can track your order as it travels to its final destination.


Packaging

The items I ordered were not large and both fit into the small box the were packed in. The box was secured tightly with a strip of clear packaging tape and an invoice was placed inside the box along with the items I ordered.

Returns

If you are unsatisfied with your purchase it can be returned to LNT via mail at the address shown on the Returns page or it can be returned to a LNT retail location. Returns shipped back to LNT via mail or UPS should be credited back to you within 30 days.



Bottom line

I wish I could have purchased my duvet cover at a retail LNT location in order to use my 20% off coupon but the free shipping code I found online was a fortunate find as shipping can be expensive as it’s based on weight. I was happy that my order was in stock and arrived more quickly than I had expected. I would order from LNT.com again.
