If you were thinking of using this online store, I would seriously consider looking elsewhere. I used Linens and Things for three different orders within a two-month period. Each order had at least one item canceled!
Lesson learned from this - if you must purchase from Linens and Things, do not click to place your order if an item in your basket is not in stock! The first couple times that I had a cancellation, I summed it up to bad luck in choosing products that were no longer available from the manufacturer. I even thought it was an oversight when they didn't send me a tracking number with my second order and it was finally delivered ten business days after they "claimed" it was shipped. But by the time of my third and final order, when another item was canceled, I came to the realization that Linens and Things only carries items that are considered "end of life" and the whole store should be considered "clearance".
I had to wait over 30 days for Linens and Things to cancel my last order when they could not honor it, even after I attempted to contact them via email and phone to inquire about the item's availability. I was even ready to accept the same item in a different color in order to have it shipped! This is where the poor customer service of Linens and Things really shines. Emailed responses are nothing more than form letters thanking you and apologizing for not being able to cancel, change, or resubmit an order. The telephone customer support staff, if you can get through, will tell you the same thing. After a month of waiting for Linens and Things to finally cancel my last order, I decided not to shop with them again. I don't know about you, but if I'm going to wait over a month for something, I would like to reasonably know if I'm going to get it.
If you absolutely must purchase from this store, be prepared for the worst. You may be able to find some bargains, but I'd gladly pay a bit more to use a service that treats its customers better. Bottom line - you really do get what you pay for.
