This is truly the worst online shopping experience I've ever had.
My wife ordered 3 items on December 7th to have shipped in time for Christmas. On December 19th, Linens and Things sends an email to us that two of the items have been cancelled, but our third item was shipped.
December 19th is a great time to buy items for Christmas, so we spent a fortune on shipping to send our gifts out in time for the 25th.
My wife called customer support to see if the one remaining item was shipped. Linens and Things informs us that it was shipped.
The 24th rolls around and no item gets shipped. We called Linens and Things once again, and we were told the item was shipped and it will arrive on time. If it does not arrive by Christmas we will receive the item for free.
Today is the 26th of December. Still no item. We called Linens and Things once again, and they said it was our fault for ordering the item standard shipping on the December 7th, because they need seven days to ship via Fed EX. What?!?!
I called Fed EX and they tell me that Linens and Things setup an eletronic number but never shipped the item.
Once again I called Linens and Things today. Talked to another customer service person and they again told me the item was shipped. I politely informed them that the item was not shipped according to Fed EX.
This time Linens and Things tells me that they'll credit me my order and I can re-order my item. I ask them about the free purchase, and she tells me that I do not qualify.
After 2 hours of phone jockeying I ask to talk to a manager. After another long wait, I'm informed that Fed EX lost my package so Linens and Things is not responsible for anything. They have met their needs for this item.
To summarize.
1. Ordered 3 packages.
2. No packages were delivered.
3. Customer service is awful.
4. Cost me extra to ship via JC Penny.
5. I spent over a 1,000 dollars at Linens and Things last year. They're not seeing another dime of my money.
