I have shopped the Lands End website several times in the last month. I won a $100 gift certificate to their store and since Arkansas doesn't have one, I decided to use it online for ease.
Lands End's website contains clothing and accessories for men, women and children along with home furnishings. Their website, although easy to navigate, sometimes is overloaded with images that can slow down page load times and make it frustrating to surf the site at a reasonable speed.
I highly like the home furnishings section of Lands End. They have a large amount of stuff that is both stylish and trendy.
Unfortunately, I'm not too partial to many of their clothes. They have a moderate level of trendy or stylish clothes but most are not the current "fad" or "trend" going on. They appear to be more old fashioned or conservative in their clothing lines. Along with this goes a nice price tag. Lands' End is more of an upscale retailer and their prices show that on many of their items. In spending my gift certificate, it was interesting to see how little it would get me.
Lands End also has an Overstock clearance area that contains some good values (although some are still expensive to be on clearance). They also have a section called Over the Counter. Here, overstock clearance is posted on Saturday in limited quantities and as the week progresses, a bigger discount is taken. Merchandise is changed out each Saturday. This section is good and you can pick up some great bargains here, if the merchandise is something you can use or need. Often times, it's old style or sizes not sold that much in their store.
All in all, I enjoy Lands End and will continue to keep an eye on their Overstock and Over the Counter sections. I tend to be a bargain hunter and these two area's hold some promise as we move into the holiday season. For the main pages, I prefer more trendy clothes to wear. Lands End needs to move away from the "Biff and Buffy" era to gain more of my money on their main pages.
