On Friday March 9, 2007 I called FTD (via the 1-800 number) and placed and order for a beautiful Pink Opulence Bouquet from their Premier Collection. The Bouquet was for my Mom's 50th birthday, to be delivered on her birthday on March 11, 2007 to Brooklyn NY , ZIP 11230 and I also upgraded it to Premium, which made my order a total of $100.98
Talking to FTD was great, they were lovely confirmed everything twice and sent me an e-mail right away.
Saturday morning, got a call from them, apparently their florist didn't get the address correct and wanted to verify (it was correct in the FTD system, but the florist got it down wrong). No issues, the address was verified.
So Saturday night (the 10th), my Mom gets a jumbled message on her answering machine from the florist saying they are coming by (it was about 5 pm when they called). She said she was going to be out, they said fine, they will leave the flowers with neighbors (Mom lives in an apartment building), she said no, at least ring the Super.
She got the bouquet from the Super Saturday night and when I saw it I was dumbfounded. It didn't look anything like the picture on the site.
I called FTD on Sunday to find out why the delivery was early and what comprised my bouquet. They said they'd get back to me the next day after they spoke with the florist.
Ultimately they said the florist delivered it Saturday because the recipient told them to (my Mom was never given a choice) and mentioned the florist was actually closed Sunday. The flowers they said, were superb and the florist believes they were worth well over $100. When I asked for a summary of the flowers or a price for each (hey, maybe they were $10 roses?) they declined and also didn't tell me the name of the florist.
I did get an apology from FTD, a 10% refund on my order (via FTD site) and a $15 off any next purchase until May 31, 2007.
I was very disappointed.
