I recently purchased a 3-season tent from CampSaver.com and their customer service was simply phenomenal!!! First of all, after placing the order, I realized that I needed to change the shipping method to make sure that I got the tent in time to familiarize myself with it by setting it up at home before I headed out to the trail. No problem at all ? CampSaver returned my call promptly (imagine that!) and made the adjustment for me. My decision to have the shipping expedited was fortunate, since it turned out that the tent that I received had a manufacturing defect that rendered it effectively unusable. I had only a couple of days until my scheduled departure and was quite worried about getting the problem resolved in time. No problem once again! CampSaver listened carefully to my problem, made the judgment that I was not just a dizzy customer, and intervened with the manufacturer on my behalf. The manufacturer agreed to Fedex a replacement tent to me on time for my trip. CampSaver also followed up with me to make sure that everything got resolved to my satisfaction. Who has EVER heard of such support from an Internet vendor! Just amazing! I am one VERY happy customer!!!

I ordered a tent that after it arrived, I discovered that it was not as large as I desired. I contacted Campsaver, but they did not carry the larger tent by Marmot, so they told me to return it (no questions ask). I returned it in its original packaging by UPS and they promptly gave me a refund on my credit card. I only regret they did not carry the product I needed, so I had to purchase it from another company.

It would be easier for people living in Canada to be able to order in less than $100. quantities, but all it took was a short e mail to campsaver and I found how the mail order worked. Luckily we know people living in the U.S. to have something delivered to their home.

The web site is well laid out and easy to navigate. I do wish there was more information (such as weights, dimensions, burn times, etc. on all the product descriptions, in the same format. Some descriptions are very complete but others lack important data. A "spread sheet" comparison feature to compare similar products on features, weight, dimensions, packed size, price etc. would be great! This would be especially helpful with products like stoves or sleeping bags where it is hard to differentiate between various models and types. Comparisons such as ?ounces of packed fuel per liter of boiling water?, ?boil time per liter? and ?$ per ounce of fuel? would be hugely helpful to debug the which-stove-is-right-for-me controversy.

A great first time experience with this store and I would shop here again. I order my item Tuesday morning, they shipped it in the afternoon and it arrived on Thursday! The price for the item I ordered (a child carrier) was around the same as other retailers, but CampSaver.com offered a free sun/rain hood and free shipping which made the purchase a much better deal than the other stores.

The one complaint I had was that I never received an email confirmation from the seller. This might have been a problem with my junkmail filter, but I have never had such problems with other dealers.

The item I ordered was sold out. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice if I would have known that before they accepted my order. But here is what really bothered me, they charged my credit card immediately on receiving my order even though they didn't have the product to send me. Then when I cancelled my order they took over a week to process the refund to my credit card.

I thought they were excellent. I had been looking for this particular jacket in a specific color and size for a while, and on a whim, I ended up at CampSaver.com. Not only did they have the jacket in the size and color I wanted, but they had it for $60 less than what other stores (that advertised it but never had it in stock) had it listed for. From the price of the item to how quickly they got it shipped out, I will be sure to check CampSaver before I ever buy any outdoors clothing. And, I am going to recommend them to all of my family and friends for their outdoor apparel needs :)
