I have ordered many times from Cabela's. The pricing is not the greatest much of the time, but it is always very good quality. I also appreciate the great selection they have in fly fishing gear that is always hard to find locally. I was pleasantly surprised after buying a pair of Cabela's branded Waders and Felt Shoes. Both have been great, even though I was reluctant to buy because of sizing and fit concerns. There was enough info on the site for me to figure out what size to order and it worked out great. I have never had to return anything, so I am unaware of those hassles.

I ordered an Adidas wind pant thru the Cabela's website. The pants were on sale for $19.99! Prompt shipping, good communication, absolutely no problems encountered. I'm very happy with my purchase. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Don't use instore pickup when ordering online!!! I ordered and purchased item on the 22nd of Feb. It wasn't processed until Feb 27th. I still haven't received my purchase and its Mar 6th. Customer service is worthless. I have contacted customer service 3 times, once by email and twice by phone and they truly don't care. They can not track order and would not refund me my money. I was told "if they ever come in I could return them." Do not use instore pickup when you order online!

Cabela's sucks. I called them on the phone when I made the order and asked what if they don't fit? They said that I could return the jeans for a full refund if it didn't fit, and that I could just use the prepaid packing slip to send them back. But when I returned it, they did NOT refund me the original shipping and they took out the cost of shipping it back too, so I ended up $14 in the hole. I will NEVER shop with them again. They hung up on me when I called to complain!

I ordered a Moultrie 5 camera on line for $149. A week later it was advertised for $99. We called the store and they refused to issue a price adjustment unless we drove 60 miles to return the camera and rebuy it at the sale price. I e-mailed them about this issue and did not receive a reply.
A Week later the same camera is on sale for $129. I have tried again, we'll see. |

Cabela's online store is easy and fun. They have so much stuff. It is easy to find exactly what I need by using the categories or even the search option. The prices are decent and the shipping has always been very fast and comparable to others. Their products can't be beat. My family has been shopping Cabela's for as long as I can remember and will continue to do so well into the future.

I should just sign half my paycheck over to Cabela's every month. I purchase a lot of hard to find items from them. I a local store doesn't have what I'm looking for Cabela's usually does and at a decent price. Customer service is second to none and If you get a chance to go to one of there stores it's like disney land for hunter and fishermen. Shipping is usualy prompt and often much faster than I have expected. I have only ever had one small problem and it was handles quickly and to my satisfaction. This is great considering I have literally spent thousands at this store.

Very fast delivery. Ordered on Saturday, UPS Ground, promised in 7 days and it arrived on Thursday (4 days). Well packaged for shipping. It's companies like these who do it so well you don't need to call customer service. That's the reason I shop on-line.

I think if you have had a problem with Cabela's return policy the problem is more than likely with you. They let me return a $700 tent one year later. The problem with the tent was also my fault. I was just trying to buy some parts to fix it and they insisted that I send it back. They had me box it up then they sent UPS to my house to pick it up. They paid for the whole thing. I had a brand new tent at my house seven days from when they picked the damaged one up. Their customer service and return policy are unmatched.

I have purchased many items from Cabela's and The quality of products has always been there. I do not agree that shipping should be based on the amount of the product. Cabela's just pockets the profit on the shipping but since fuel is so high now, they probably are braking even. They are not the cheapest store but I feel the quality is there. They also offer so many different products.

Horrible stinky merchandise!!!! Bad customer service.
I ordered two women's sweaters and when I received them they stunk to high heaven!!!! You could even smell them from outside the packaging.Contaminated with mold/mildew. Washed 4 times -- still not gone. After 6th washing, seems to be okay. Sent email to Cabelas customer service and they did not care or respond at all. DON"T order from Cabelas, lousy selection and who wants reeking sweaters? |

I have purchased last May a simple pack of YoYo reels (maybe there were 2 packs, I don`t remember that). I`m living in Europe and the shipping cost was greater than the mercahndise itself. Anyway, I have been just noted about September 8th! (2005) that they appreciate I have purchased from them and that the rejected mercahandise is returned back. There was written too that I have still credit (of the amount of money the reels have cost) on my account (I payed by crdit card). Some time later I contacted some dispatcher via internet and asked about my case (had no notice that the package arrived, and shipping money dissapeared). She told me that they cannot do anything about and that it is a mistake of the post office in my town...? But she added that the money for the reels have been returned on my bank account, which is not true. So anyway, about 35$ blown in the wind, I got nothing but expences, plus I got nothing I needed. Don`t believe I will ever try to purchase anything from Cabelas |

I have been ordering with Cabelas since it was just catalog only. I have yet to be disappointed. These people know how to do business and the few times I was not pleased they definitely made it right and then some. Now adays I order more clothes and shoes than gear. Everything is always to my satisfaction. Year before last I suggested that they put a wish list function on their website so that people could have suggestions in place for friends and family that aren't familiar with the gear. The next year, they had it up and running. I would highly recommend this site to anyone and everyone.

I purchased an item from Cabela's for my son for Christmas. The item arrived broken but that was not discovered until he opened the gift on Christmas Eve. We promptly returned it per Cabela's policy the day after Christmas, using their labels and following their instruction.
Cabela's never notified me they had received the package and it is now Jan. 23rd and I haven't had a replacement. When I emailed their customer service dept. inquiring about this, I was told it was being processed on the 18th. I still haven't received any clue at all as to when to expect the replacement. I am not happy with their customer service and will not be shopping there anymore. |

I used to be a happy Cabelas customer...until I purchased online a:
Columbia Freedom Parka Item: QS-922615 Price: $79.95 Color: Savory I purchased this parka online, waited a week for delivery and when I received it the color was not exactly what I expected. I was expecting, as the picture showed a Tanish base color with a greyish trim. What I recieved was a dark olive green base color with a darker green trim. I was not looking for a green jacket, therefore I looked at my return options. I could send it back...for a refund of the purchase price only, not shipping. If I wanted to send it back I had to pay for the shipping and...insurance. Bottom line was I ended up driving to one of the Cabela stores and returned it there. They didn't feel that it was there error in the color not being as depicted so I ended up being stuck with the shipping charges and was out $10. |

In 2001 I purchased a Cabela's smoker. I use it 4-5 times a year, so perhaps I have used it 30 times. The last time that I used it the electric element broke. Via their online store, I attempted to purchase a replacement element. I was told that they did not sell replacement parts and that the item was discontinued so there was nothing they could do for me. Much cheaper units were available but I chose Cabela's because of the mistaken idea that it would be of better quality. I was wrong. Buyers beware.

I just wanted to comment on how GREAT I think [Cabela's]shipping prices are! Previously, I have not ordered from Cabela's (in years past) because the S&H was just too high. Now, though, I was surprised at how reasonably priced the S&H are. It makes Cabelas competitive with shopping locally or from vendor offering free shipping! Thanks, MC
The only negative thing is that the cart gets deleted if you're working in more than 1 browser or begin shopping again at a later date. |

I've shopped at Cabela's for many years. Delivery was faster than any other companies I've ordered from in the past. I've had numerous returns that have ranged from not liking the product to breaking a product under normal use.In all instances I received call tags for shipping and either replacement or full refund whichever I wanted. They were prompt , courteous and accommodating. Order accuracy has been 100% and I've had some very complex orders. I'm very satisfied with Cabela's and use them as a gauge for other business transactions. I will continue to give these people my business in the future.

Why should expensive items cost more to ship than heavy items?? Shipping should be based on the WEIGHT of the object,not on it's dollar value. Imagine if the Post Office asked the value of your letter. Every shipper in the world base their rates on weight, but not Cabelas. Why should a diamond ring, for example,which weighs next to nothing, cost more to ship than a bowling ball? There is no logic to it, other than Cabelas soaking the folks who spend a lot.
Their prices and selection are excellent,I admit, but I balk at their shipping. For me, it's a deal killer. |

I had visited the PA store (wow) looking for an inflatable boat and a training collar for a dog. No boats in stock & the only collar I'd consider humane was out of stock. I ordered the collar & looked on line for the boat. Collar arrived as promised & is excellent. Boat arrived OK also & is just as advertised. Today I sought & ordered a Paddle Boat and it came with FREE SHIPPING. I like Cabelas - however prices in the store are above average for identical merchandise - so be cautious!!

The let my order sit for three days before processing and shipping it. When I called after seeing it had not shipped after two business days to cancel the order I was told I could not. The order came too late for me to use. When I complained I was told it would have shipped the next day if I had paid for their express service. Sounds a little like a extortion to me. I'll pay more and buy elsewhere rather than be treated as a second class customer because I chose their more economical shipping option.

I ordered army cots which were not as described and self-inflating pads which were not as described, matter of fact the pads should've been considered seconds. They issued call tags for the army cots but not the pads. So I am out $25 for shipping for the inferior products they sent me. They'll never have me as a customer. Their bargain basements are well-stocked with merchandise that has been returned. That should say something about their merchandise!

The experience has been a positive one shopping at Cabela's
Customer service was also a good experience,on returns;they have always credited my account no questions asked,the availability of items has always been 99%.The only flaw I've experienced has been with shipping,while all items are shipped promptly,some arrive within the time frame they promise some not.I know this not to be their responsibility,but the post office,still it's a sore while shopping through the mail,not their fault. |

I ordered a tent early March and even though the ordering part went quite smoothly and the product was in stock, I had
to find out after several inquiries, that delivery can take up anything to three (!) months. Being an overseas customer I fully understand it is hard to guarantee overnight delivery, but three months ! No problem if that is quoted before you actually purchase a product, but rather unfair if you only find out after sending a number of e mails to Cabela's customer service. This is definitely a ' once in a lifetime '. |

I went online to purchase a fly rod. I quickly found exactly what I wanted with little searching. It was very easy to checkout and purchase the item. The prices was better that what I found in most stores. The shipping was quick, and the item arrived in good condition. I had no complaints. I only wish I had more money to spend.
