Ordered a Sony HDR-XR500v camcorder and some accessories (camera bag, extra battery) online at www.bhphotovideo.com .  I placed the order on a Sunday of a three day weekend, expecting nothing to happen until Tuesday at the earliest.  It was processed on Monday (which was a holiday), shipped out Tuesday morning and received on Wednesday (free UPS ground shipping on the camcorder), which I thought was really fast.  The did call me to make sure I placed the order (maybe because it was an expensive order), but there was no push to buy anything extra or to change anything.

The camcorder and accessories were genuine US items in original packing sealed with SONY tape.  No grey-market items.  Everything works great.

I definitely recommend B&H as a good online camera dealer.  I have heard that adorama.com is also a good dealer, but I have never used that website.  Do your research on other places (like 42photo and 1stopcamera) as they will sell grey market items and/or harass you over the phone to buy overpriced accessories (i.e. - bait-and-switch tactics).  Make sure your warranty is the manufacturer's warranty.  If you get a "US" warranty or a "free upgrade to the store's warranty program", then the product is likely a grey market item.  I have heard that B&H has some grey market items (for the hard to get things or products you can not otherwise get in the US), but that does not apply for the camcorder I purchased.  B&H may cost slightly more than these other stores, but it's worth it to me.
