I've been dealing with Amazon.com for over 10 years, and have had very few problems, the very few problems I've had have been rapidly remedied to my liking.

If people want to complain about Amazon, that's their right. But complaining about Amazon because of some crap product they bought is ridiculous. Amazon is basically the middle man. They rent the space, and the dealer sells the item.

When I purchase something from Amazon, I'm taking the chance that that product will be good or bad. And I ALWAYS have the oppotunity to return the product....no questions asked.

I would rather deal with Amazon.com than ANY other online site, and most stores!

Every item I ordered through Amazon the items came well before expected arrival date. May not be the cheapest prices online, but customer service and shipping times have been right on and make up for the few dollars you may save with other sites. All items I ordered for Christmas came within several days of ordering. Communication and emails right on.

They sent the wrong memory card then lied to me about refunding me. I simply asked for my credit card to be credited after I returned the item to them unopened. They stated that I would receive a credit via email with a code to buy more products on their site. They never sent that email. They then stated that they had sent me a gift card; they did not send that either. They then stated that the reason they could not credit my card is because I purchased the item with a gift card. That was also not true. I purchased with my American Express credit card. I have contacted an attorney just to get Amazon.com to pay me back a measly $49.00. My attorney is pro bono or I would not bother. Please try to buy your items from an alternate website. I'm sure they have thousands of items that ship without any problems, however on the occasions where there is a problem (at least in my experience), good luck getting a refund. Dismal Customer Service.

I purchased in an item on December 27, 2007. I paid for next day air shipping. It was shown as in stock at Amazon. As of today, January 5, 2008, I still have not received the $350 item. Emails to the company have basically gone unanswered. The item was a birthday present for my son. His birthday was January 2nd. You can imagine how disappointed I was not have to the main present. Amazon never contacted me to let me know that they were not shipping my next day air order.

I have had this experience with them before. I will never order from them again. I recommend that you buy from another company that cares.

I used to shop alot at amazon.com but have decided to quit in the past year. They always advertise free shipping but when I would try to place an order suprisingly enough nothing I wanted to order would ever qualify for free shipping! When this happened several times that was enough for me to abandon my shopping cart and go shopping on websites who "really do" offer free shopping without all the trickery.

We have placed 2 orders with Amazon over the past year that have resulted in unacceptable service. The first order was for photo albums that were received with different covers than advertised. Amazon would not refund the shipping costs although both the seller and Amazon agreed that the product was not as advertised and pictured on the Amazon web site and seller's web site. Second, we ordered a Sherpani child carrier from a seller C&C Outdoor Products. The order was placed thru Amazon on 12/12. The order was a gift and never received. We monitored the Amazon web site which indicated shipment was to occur within a specified time slot so there was no way to verify or confirm. On 12/25, we received a notice of non-performance of the seller from Amazon. We emailed the seller and Amazon to cancel. Amazon customer service implied there was little they could do despite the non-performance email. The assistance from Amazon on this order was a bad as the experience with the seller.

I tried selling a few things on Amazon.com, then since one of my shipments was a day late they locked me out of my account with no prior notice so I can't access my orders and they won't give me my money, it's been 5 months now and I don't have the money for my items and I don't even know how many people placed orders and are not receiving them. I looked into this and they have been doing this to a LOT of people. They will rip you off! They literally have non-existent customer service. Don't trust them!

WORST Experience ever in my 12 years of shopping online.
My experience:

(a) "Price" can not be trusted. (and not always the lowest if you do comparison shopping - and use price comparison search engines.)

(b) "Low Price means nothing" if you don't receive your product.

(c) "A Rebate ad from Amazon" can be canceled anytime, weeks after the order is placed.

(d) "Customer Service" is Terrible. Can not talk to anyone but a clerk for issues that require more help.

(e) "Trustworthy & Reliability": You don't know if you will receive the product until it arrives at your door.

Shopping at Amazon was a gamble when same product is sold a few dollars more elsewhere. A $3.00 saving turned into a $70.00 Loss, when a "National Sales Day" opportunity ended.

Reliability to receive a product is worth more than the few pennies I thought I'd save.
