The customer service was VERY disappointing!
I usually shop on backcountry.com but they didn't have the ski pants I was looking for, so I decided to buy them on Altrec.com. The free shipping is via USPS, not the best but it arrived quickly. However but the first pair I got was too big for me, and I returned them via USPS insured. I got a new pair quickly too.
On the other hand it took me about three weeks to get the refund from the return. I checked the link for the return status on the website a couple times but nothing. When I contacted the customer service via email they told me they needed the tracking # to process the refund ???? As I had insured my package but not paid for the delivery confirmation I had to pay an extra $5 to get a confirmation. When I scanned and emailed it to the customer service as a TIFF image they managed to complain they couldn't open it, that I had to send it as a ".doc" file. They eventually accepted a pdf, and told me my card was going to be credited within 48 hours (so I haven't seen my money back yet).
To make it short, they have competitive prices but beware of the customer service. At Backcountry.com they processed my returns in 2 days without questions.
