I ordered flowers for my mother in law to arrive at her home the day after she had surgery. The flowers never arrived. I called 1 800 flowers and they assured me the flowers were on the way and they would still be fresh. The flowers arrived to my in laws 2 days later and they were dead. I called them again and they sent new flowers to my mother in law and to appease me they gave me a gift certificate for another flower order.
I recently tried to use this gift certificate for mother's day. I ordered flowers for my mother on the website, but the website would not accept my gift certificate. So I called the 800 number and the operator also could not redeem my gift certificate. It's a long story, but after waiting endlessly on hold several times for a supervisor, and getting disconnected twice, I gave up.
Much to my surprise I received an email from 1 800 flowers saying that they had processed my order......they charged me full price and did not honor my gift certificate. I called them to cancel this order, and they said because of high volume, they could not cancel any mother's day orders. I tried canceling through the website. I received three emails back the next day. Two said that I couldn't cancel the order and one said that the order had been canceled. I called them 3 more times, and sent 3 more emails to them, but I could never talk with a supervisor. They were all busy. One operator said that a supervisor would call me in the morning. None called.
Their customer service is non-existent. I will never order through them again and I hope no one else who reads this will. Spread the word.
