Own a special bit of American history with this 2000 United States Silver Eagle Proof Coin in gem brilliant, uncirculated condition. Your coin comes in original government packaging. The mirrorlike finish is the result of 2 or more stampings on special blanks when it's minted. There's also true beauty in the coin's artistic design. It features Adolph Weinman's walking Liberty on the face and a heraldic eagle with symbolism representing the original 13 colonies on back. Older Silver Eagles - especially in uncirculated condition - are becoming increasingly more difficult to find. Many have been saved and melted over the years, leaving fewer numbers for the growing numbers of collectors. And since during the earliest years of production starting in 1986 no one recognized their numismatic value, many of the coins available today have been handled. Other details are: Measures approx. 40.6mm diameter Contains 1 ounce of .9993 pure silver (99.93% silver, 0.07% copper) Note: All items considered for return must be in their original condition as sold. In 2006, the United States Mint introduced a collectible, un-circulated version of the popular gold, silver and platinum American Eagle Coins. All three of the American Eagle Un-circulated Coins carry the same stunning designs found on their proof counterparts. This coin weighs approximately 0.25 ounces and measures 0.65" in diameter. The term "un-circulated" refers to the specialized minting process used to create these coins. Although they are similar in appearance to American Eagle Bullion Coins, these new un-circulated coins are distinguished by the presence of a mint mark, indicating their production facility, and by the use of burnished coin blanks, which are hand-fed into specially- adapted coining presses one at a time. Each American Eagle Un-circulated Coin is carefully inspected before it is encapsulated in plastic, protecting its pristine finish. This quality (GRADE) rating is determined on the Sheldon scale, on which points are deducted from 70 for each flaw or imperfection on a coin's surface. A 70 is thus the highest grade a coin can achieve, with no flaws visible to the unaided eye. All American Eagle Gold Coins are legal-tender and contain 91.67% (22ct) gold. The gold weight and diameter will vary with each coin denomination, as specified below. Each coin is backed by the U.S. Government for weight and content. Coin Features: Obverse: A rendition of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' full length figure of Lady Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left hand. Reverse: The reverse design, by sculptor Miley Busiek, features a male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and her hatchlings.

About Silver American Eagles: 1986 was the first year of the Silver American Eagle program. Affordability, credibility, and beauty are the qualities that have made American Eagle Silver Bullion coins the world's best-selling silver coins. As genuine legal tender, they are the only silver bullion coins whose weight and purity are guaranteed by the United States Government. They're also the only silver coins allowed in an IRA. Silver has historically been the most affordable precious metal. Each coin contains a minimum of one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver, giving it the highest pure silver content of any coin in U.S. history. About NGC: Numismatic Guarantee Corporation, abbreviated as "NGC", is a third party grading service that certifies and grades coins. They are considered a third party service because they are not directly controlled by any coin dealers. NGC is one of the most popular and well respected independent coin grading companies.
